“To All My Facebook Friends” (2)

I love this piece!

Some times I just wish we all put away our social media, and go back to the 90’s.

Aternatively,
We could unplug ourselves
Off Facebook
And start writing
In journals.
Alternatively,
We could write
Each other letters
And make frequent trips
To the post office.
It will take too much of our time,
Of course, but our correspondence
Will be longer
And the pleasure of conversing
Will be drawn out.
Anyway, a conversation
Via social media
Mediated by computer monitors
And profile photos
Isn’t really much of a
Conversation, is it?
Anyway, I want to see your
Handwriting, feel the strokes
Of your pen with my fingers,
And smell the ink and paper.
You don’t have to write and sound
Like Jane Austen, although that would
Be great, as well.
You can write like a cardiologist,
I wouldn’t mind.
There are nuances in our handwriting,
You know.
Alternatively,
We could lie on roof tops
And gaze at the distant galaxies
And talk about our dreams.
Alternatively,
We could…

DISHES

Dear anyone,

Washing dishes is not my thing, it has never been my thing.

Yes… Culturally a lady does the kitchen work and all, I do them of course, but it’s not something I love like some people. I wash just because I hate seeing a place unorganized.

I hate disorderliness, everywhere scattered, I can’t have a peaceful sleep in there without not think about it.

So you see, you love to wash I love to arrange.

Dear future hubby,

Some days I cook, some days you cook?
We clean the house together, since you notice I have fear of water, you mop I sweep 😉
We wash the car together 😍😍
We alternate driving 🙌

I will include the rest in the wedding vows. 😁 we gonna do all together because 1+1+1=1 with God included, and what God has joined together let no man, thing, task etc separate

Even though you haven’t met me, am assured you’re praying for me.

Hehehehe
Till the day we see 👀 to 👀

Love always

10 must have things in Lagos

Dear all,

Today’s letter is for all of us.
Ten things you must always have if you are a candidate of public transport in Lagos Nigeria.

1) Umbrella: it rains without notice, not many bus stop has sheds neither do many offices or building make room for such, or else the rain will get you wet and Lagos sun will shine like it didn’t rain and then get you all dried up!!

2) smaller notes: you don’t want those bus conductors to marry you to strangers or insult you for no reason and if you’re a Christian you might just sin, because politeness is not a bus conductor language.

3) toilet rolls: things will just splash on you from the road users or from anywhere.

4) spare foot wear: you don’t want to be walking barefoot on the road, lagosians don’t mind their business

5 spare outfit in the office: Those metal things called buses will tear your clothes no matter how original they are!!

6) slippers: this is for the ladies, traffic can start without notice and you might have to work a few kilometres to get to your final destination, you wanna do that in something comfy!!!

7) hand sanitisers: In a populous city like LAGOS, hand sanitisers should always be in your bag and used every time you use anything that start with the letter (P) Public…. We don’t have to wait for another virus before we learn. And always wash your hand anywhere you find water.

8) Make up: this is for the ladies…. But if you can do your makeup in the house and get to work still look prim and proper kudos!!! Else, do you makeup at work and if you forget it in the house, GOODLUCK with your day!

9) still thinking of the last two will edit & update!

10 THINGS I LIKE

1) SHOES
2) LEGGINGS
3) TOPS THAT DONT GET TO THE KNEE but below the ass
4) DRESSES (GOWN) fitted or flowing
5) BLAZERS!!!
6) RINGS & HAND JEWELRIES
7) will update the rest when I have thought of them.

INJURIES

Hi Shona,

I have been so busy, with counseling of friends. I just have to say at this point with what I know and what I have heard and see people go through, SEX outside the marriage is NOT RIGHT, another talk for another day.

Okay… Everyday I wake up and I just feel pains at different parts of my body… It’s so sad! Those danfo bus are just punishment, if I don’t have a scratch on my body, I will have a blot clot on my skin, with pains 😦 😦 😦 .

Dear God,

I don’t want to sound like a complainer, I know some people have been jobless for months and would do whatever to have somewhere to go in the morning and night. This is me saying THANK YOU!!! LORD, I AM GRATEFUL!! You promised in your word that the part of the Just is as a shining light, that shines brighter and brighter unto a perfect day.

I believe and know I have to start from somewhere, however, I trust you will never leave me here or forsake me, because you said in your world, that am a city set upon a hill and therefore I can’t be hidden. Thank you God!!!
Thank you God!!!

MY DESTINY I MUST FULFILL, I MUST DIE EMPTY, AND I MUST LIVE A RIGHTEOUS LIFE! So help me God.

Your daughter that is in love with you crazily!!!! 💋😍😍

Lagos no word to describe you!

Dear Shona
Lagos is one hell of a place and I have no exact word to describe it, from the cute baby at her mother’s back sitting next to me, to the insane woman or better described as crazy woman who I almost bumped into, to the little girl walking by the road side who stopped to call me fine girl. I had to say OMG!! Moving forward to the bus conductor who was drinking alcohol or agbo one of them, outside his bus, while the bus was moving, you know how they hang on to the bus, and the breeze blew some of its content on we the passengers and this conductor said it was water!! Unfortunately we wore bright colors and the liquid content stained our outfits. Still on that same bus, his bus door hit the man on the head and I had a great laugh!!! That’s what he gets for lying. 😀😀

Psalms 1:1
Blessed is the man
that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Politics in Nigeria

Dear Shona,

It saddens my heart to see the band of people going into politics, people that never studied politics, people that are not educated enough.

People be saying but this great person didn’t finish school, but do you know the caliber of the school he dropped out from? Do you know the kind of books he read that got him to that position of been number one, do you know the kind of home training they got??

Nobody should tell me rubbish about education is not important. Because majority of our leaders in Nigeria are not educated enough, that’s why we are where we are today! We can see the difference between those that were educated and those that were not from Presidents to local Government.

Profile: This politicians running for post, were once someone’s classmate, someone’s student, someone’s neighbour, someone’s senior or junior if they made it to school, they can tell us more about this politicians.
Gosh!!!! We need OPA (Olivia Pope and Associate) in Nigeria to help us tell the truth about these politicians. To dig in deep and do proper background checks on this so called politicians.

Stop voting parties NIGERIAN YOUTH WAKE UP, vote individuals. Look at the individuals that make up this party are they good enough, are they
Selfless
Readers “leaders are readers”
Visionary
Purposeful
Professionals etc….

I could rant on and on….. But Nigeria must be better than it is, Nigeria must be a reference point. Haven traveled outside the country, AFRICA is a country and South Africa is a country also can you imagine??? This shit is so sad 😦 even though I like to call those people with that mentality illiterates and tell them to read more, we have to put the right people in power!!!!!

Peace ✌️

Psalms 122:6-8
” Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
they shall prosper that love thee.
Peace be within thy walls,
and prosperity within thy palaces.
For my brethren and companions’ sakes,
I will now say, Peace be within thee.”

Healthy hair journey

Dear Shona,

I mentioned in my last post why my hair isn’t natural right?

However, Dear beautiful daughters of mine, you’re going to keep unrefined natural till you’re old enough to decide for yourself. I will teach you from a young age how to take proper care for your hair type.

If my hair wasn’t healthy, I definitely will be keeping unrefined natural hair.

How my proper hair journey began…
I mentioned earlier that I didn’t have the longest hair but I sure had the healthiest hair, because my salonist encouraged me to steam often. Even though I didn’t do it as often as I do it now.

I found myself in a foreign land, for education, didn’t travel with a lot of things thinking I will find them to buy like any other country. But to my amazement, no one had relaxer eh!!! Ah!! I relaxed my hair in September just few days before I left Nigeria, I retouch once after four months but for four months no relaxer whew!! I started to think how I go carry hair for one year without relaxer???

My next touch should be December but no relaxer…… I learnt from my roommate who is South American by the way, about deep conditioning often, so I started to deep condition my hair every two weeks did I mention that making hair was as difficult as buying relaxers, thank God!! I know how to make hair, I made my hair myself every two weeks, bought some wigs, deep condition every two weeks and without knowing I was doing protective styling.

Finally, made some friends, she handed over her last relaxer to me and she helped me retouch in April yea…… Almost 8 months no relaxer. I couldn’t believe it myself too!!! My hair had grown long compared to a year ago or before I left Nigeria.

I made protective style, deep conditioning, wigs, relaxing after 4 months my friends and my hair is now healthier and longer.

Am about to go 8 months without retouching again. Join the challenge!!! It means lots of deep conditioning. I relaxed my hair last August 26th 2014 till April 26th 2015 so help me God!!!

Psalms 92:1-2
” A Psalm or Song for the sabbath day.
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord,
and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:
To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning,
and thy faithfulness every night,”

Security and Lagos!!

Dear Shona,

Lagos is a very busy city as you will definitely know, every Nigerian knows that, however security in Lagos is scary, like very scary it’s not as bad as it used to be tho….

Rewind to last week, someone left her house at about 7am and entered danfo those yellow buses and she asked in English “conductor won’t you pick up more passengers” and he laughed and spoke in Yoruba to the driver, meaning “this one has entered it today and they both laughed at her” unknown to them she understands yoruba and she became afraid!!

She was robbed and after they robbed her, they threw her to the road from a moving vehicle…… Very sad right Thank God she is alive but badly injured.

More stories on security in another post but PLEASE yes Lagos is the place to be but make sure you’re very ALERT, ATTENTIVE and CAREFUL.

And if you’re a Christian like me, please always listen to the instructions from your Pastors, and Spiritual Mentors and always Trust God for the best.

Love always

Psalms 23:4
” Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
